President Elect Obama, has changed the land scape of America, not with adverbs, but with well placed nouns. He has raised the bar for all future Presidents, and it is hard to wrap my mind around future Presidents, because the only ones I have seen were either a Reagan, Bush or Clinton. This for me will be the first Presidency where I will have all the faculties to pay attention. Yet, there is so much work to be done, which will make the next four years the most important of my life.
As a man of only 27 the future looks bright, but undecided. Obama represents my future, and that of my new born daughter. While I am happy that McCain and Palin lost, we as Americans must weep for the passing of the old out date system of Politics that no longer has a place in this nation. This nation, this country that I love, is now a country that dreams again, a country that believes in something other than war, and believes that there is a future other than keeping the rich rich, and the failed policies of Regan alive.
Thank God for change, because if McCain had won there would have been a death to the ability of every man and women to reach their goals. We now however, are faced with understanding this new ideology, a ideology that now must be tried in the fire. For if we fail at this venture, if we fail at that experiment, we will not only fail ourselves, but we will fail the future generations to come. We must stand and never waver, we must stand and never give up hope, we must stand for those who have gone before us, and we must stand for those to come.
America was founded on a dream, a dream that we have been given the chance to build upon, a dream that we must not allow light to deam. The future of this great country now rest in the hands of those who not only voted for Obama, but it rest in the hands of those who dare to dream, who dare to believe in something other than politics, those who dare hope. The future is ours.
