What is it that makes you great? Better yet, what is it that you hide, that you want allow anyone close enough to see. Many think the character known as “Superman,” is about a man that could do anything, a man that had great power. However, the story of “Superman,” is about about a man who did everything he could to blend in. A man that wanted to be like everyone else. Yet, his calling in life was not just to be like everyone else, his calling was to stand out. What was in him compelled him to dawn a red cape, with blue tights and fly around metropolis as a superhero. No matter what Clark Kent tried to do, he could not run from what he was created to be, he could not deny that he could do things that others could not. This gift or curse Clark had, in some form of fashion drove him to be his best. Now the question remains, was Superman trying to hide Clark Kent or was Clark Kent trying to cover up Superman. Either way, at any moment or if any personality failed the cover was blown. Superman’s weakness, if around it for a length of time would kill him. However, was it this weakness that could bring about his demise or could it have been trying to hide who he really was. How many human beings are Supermen and women hiding who they truly are just so they can fit in? Who do you think you are protecting yourself from, what are you trying to hide. God has blessed each and everyone of us with talents. He has made us in his image, images are supposed to reflect, so who are you reflecting, the Superman within or Clark Kent without? Your weakness is attempting to be less than you are, being less than what you have been created to be. Stop looking in the mirror trying to hide Superman, when Clark Kent was never supposed to be you anyway.
